Recommended Devices for DroneDeploy Mapping

If you are looking for the best experience, performance, and security, we recommend you run DroneDeploy using the following device families:

Apple iPad Pro, iPad (2018+) or iPad Mini 5 (2019)
Apple iPhone XS / XR or newer
Samsung Galaxy S9 or newer (Android has limited flight functionality)

Apple iOS is most reliable for mapping

Over 75% of DroneDeploy flights are made with Apple iOS devices. We consistently see greater application stability, performance and DJI drone connectivity on the Apple iOS operating system.

Note: While Android is supported for flight, the latest features: Terrain Aware flight, Missions, and the latest UI is only available on iOS.

Live Map

Live Map is a program that requires a powerful processor and ample RAM to work properly. We suggest devices from 2017 and newer.

There are over 1,000 Android device types used by DroneDeploy customers worldwide, and unfortunately, we cannot test them all. We officially test releases on the following prioritized hardware:
